Extension Activities:

The extension activities of the institution are spearheaded by the National Service Scheme(NSS), Mythri (Staff Club), Narmada (Nature Club), Red Ribbon Club,ELC, and the Students’ Union, in unison. All Extension activities of our College aligns with UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring community engagement, awareness, and entrepreneurship development with a sustainable worldview.

Our College has received 70 awards and recognitions during the assessment period, underscoring its role in the upliftment of its rural poor, as envisaged by Sankara, and VTB. The NSS unit of the college received an award from the State NSS Office, Government of Kerala, for the academic year 2021-2022, further heightening the outcome of its activities.

• Abhayam: Built three Houses for Homeless families (NSS)
• Charity Drive at Helen Keller Blind School and 15 other places (NSS)
• Donated Oxygen Concentrator to the Public Health Centre, Katambazhipuram (Mythri)
• Sparsham: Palliative Care initiative of SVTBC, now looked after by the NSS
• Akshara Deepam Initiatives: Distributed educational materials to impoverished students of Sreekrishnapuram HSS (NSS)
• Snehaputhappu Clothing Drive: Supplied essential clothing to the village of Palamala Tribal Colony (NSS)
• Flood Relief Activities (Save Wayanad): Offered essential aid during disasters of 2019-20 (NSS)

The college’s commitment to sustainable environment can be evidenced from the collaborative efforts of NSS and Nature Club, as in-

• Afforestation and Fireline Construction: Contributed to environmental sustainability and ecosystem preservation
• Nurturing Forests: Enhanced biodiversity and protected vital habitats
• Bamboo Ecosystem (Vamsa) & Ormamaram Tree Planting: Supported ecological balance and provided sustainable resources
• Food Forest Project: Created a self-sufficient ecosystem, providing diverse, organic food products
• Kitchen Garden Initiative: Educated communities on home-grown produce

Sreekrishnapuram V T Bhattathiripad College conducted impactful surveys on “Unemployability” and anEconomic Profit Analysis, that assessed the financial health and challenges of traditional business units in Palakkad District.
