Intellectual Property Rights Cell

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell in colleges is a vital initiative aimed at fostering innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship by protecting intellectual property rights. Established to promote awareness, research and development, this cell supports students, faculty and staff in safeguarding their intellectual property.

The IPR Cell's primary objectives include creating awareness about intellectual property rights, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, protecting intellectual property rights. Through workshops, seminars, training programs and guidance on IPR-related matters, the cell encourages students to transform their innovative ideas into reality. The cell also assists in patent searching and drafting, facilitates IPR applications and develops institutional IPR policies.

"To foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among students, faculty, and staff, and to establish the college as a hub for IPR awareness, protection, and commercialization."

Mission of the Cell:

The IPR Cell aims to:

  • Promote IPR awareness: Educate students, faculty, and staff about the importance of IPR, types of IPR, and the process of IPR protection.
  • Support innovation and creativity: Encourage students, faculty, and staff to generate innovative ideas and provide guidance on protecting and commercializing their IPR.
  • Facilitate IPR protection: Assist students, faculty, and staff in filing patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs, and provide guidance on IPR management.
  • Develop IPR policy and procedures: Develop and implement IPR policies and procedures to safeguard the college's IPR and promote a culture of innovation.

Objectives of the Cell:

  • Create awareness about IPR among students, faculty and staff.
  • Promote innovation, research and entrepreneurship.
  • Protect intellectual property rights of college community members.
  • Facilitate filing of patents, copyrights, trademarks and designs.
  • Encourage collaboration with industry and research institutions.
